ONGOING Exhibition, "The Revolutionary War Era: Life in Atkinson"

This ongoing exhibition provides an in-depth look at various aspects of life in Atkinson during the Revolutionary War Era: soldiers who served, town government, education, worship, modes of communication & travel, the town's 1700s houses that stand today and much more!

Names of Atkinson men who served in the Revolutionary War (as a soldier, in the militia, or as a non-combatant patriotic sponsor) read by Jim Garrity during the Dow Common ceremony. AHS Open House followed the ceremony for visitation of the Military Room and Revolutionary War Era exhibition.

Kate Rochford, AHS President, narrated the trolley tour through Atkinson and provided history highlights of the Town Pound, Page Farm, Atkinson Cemetery, Kimball House, Atkinson Academy, and Center School.

Friends and neighbors dropped in to view our restoration progress of Atkinson's last publicly owned one-room schoolhouse, future site of a one-room schoolhouse museum and learning space.
