Atkinson Historical Society Research Projects
The Atkinson Historical Society receives regular requests to research New Hampshire homes, buildings, local families, people and events. Your request will go through a group of individuals that rely on their individual memories of Atkinson and understanding the paper resources we have available to complete the research request.

A young man from PA called to ask if anything was known about his great grandmother that lived on Main Street in the 1950's, Mrs Ernest Cheswell. One of the historical society members recalled that woman and the work she did as a seamstress, making aprons and that she was a 'nice lady'. She live in the home on 115 Main Streen known historically as the Fermald House. The man remembered the stories his mother had told him and his sisder about the aprons his great grandmother has sewn. The society providee the gentleman historical information and a photo of the home. He was very pleased with the information.
The Atkinson Congregational Church Afghan
The afghan is a collection of names that was assembled in 1930. We would very much like to find out a little more about each person and perhaps collect a back story on each. Please contact us if you have any information that you would like to share.
