Historical Mystery Item

The Kimballl house has a large number of items that appear different and were very useful in their time. Close observatiion of the item can leave folks wondering what the actual use was for the item.

Here we are going to publish a picture of an item on a regular basis and leave some time before revealing the actual item function.

Upcoming Events The Atkinson Historical Society has an active events team. Our goal is to bring quality and interesting events into Atkinson to inform the public about a current topic of interest or historical topics of all kinds. This link will take you to our events page. Currently we are actively planning events to celebrate the Atkinson 250th anniversary in 2017.

Atkinson History Atkinson has a rich history dating back to before the American Revolution. The town was part of a tract of land purchased from the indians by settlers of Haverhall, MA on November 15, 1642. The first settlements were made in 1728 by Benjamin Richards of Rochester and Jonathan and Edmund Page and John Dow of Harerhill. Click here for more details on the history of Atkinson..

Kimball Museum The Atkinson Historical Society makes it's home in the Atkinson Kimball Museum. Formerly the Atkinson public library. The museum is open every Wednesday from 2 - 4 pm and the 1st Saturday of each month from 10am - 2pm. Here is a more detailed listing of museum hours..
